Retreat from the street.

For the right choice of the place of the house should be relied on DBN 79-92: HOUSING HOUSES FOR INDIVIDUAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP, where noted the following:

"Clause 2.7. Residential buildings should be located indoors from the red line of trunk roads and rural streets - at least six meters, residential streets - at least 3 meters."

The red line is a feature for which it is prohibited to act as buildings and structures. Information about placing a red line on your site is located in the district (or rural) architect. Also, it is not worthwhile to house a house far from the front. Normal distance is 5-8 meters from the arrival. This is enough for a convenient car location. By placing the house in the depths, you lengthen the tracks, which: a) expensive, b) winter requires constant cleaning of snow. I think the cottage is better located closer to the gate. And behind the house is a private zone with a lawn and a place of rest.

A retreat from the border with a neighbor
According to paragraph 20 of the DBN: "The distance from the boundary of the adjacent area to the wall of a residential building or industrial building should be taken not less than 1 m. Designs of buildings and structures serving should not cross the borders of neighboring areas." In order to avoid possible problems, we advise you to contact the district architect or the head of the gardening community about possible local building regulations.

It happens that in some villages at the local level, the norm about the distance from the house to the neighboring fence is 1.5-3.5 m.

Fire regulations
One of the most important criteria for choosing a distance from your home to a neighbor's house is a firebreak. For stone houses with a non-flammable roof (fire resistance) it is 6 m.

For most houses with a wooden roof (III degree of fire resistance) - 8 m.

You can define the class of your home and the fire distance on the table. 2.10. Fire resistance distance between buildings of various degrees of fire resistance should be taken based on Table D.1:

Departures from transmission lines and other electric wires
If suddenly next to your house will pass an air line of transmission lines 10-20 kW, then the distance from the wires - at least 10 m.
