Why do I need a thermal imager diagnostics?

Thermal imager energy audits and diagnostics with a thermal imager

In Ukraine, once again the crisis, both devaluation of the hryvnia and an increase in energy supply tariffs are possible. And given the epidemiological situation, the situation is unlikely to change. Most likely, the tendency will continue that the family will spend two-thirds of its income on payment of housing and communal services. This is a sufficiently high financial burden not to pay attention to it.

Is there a way out of this situation?

To significantly save resources, there are two rules:

First: we should be able to pay only for the services we use. So the payment should take place purely on the counters.

Second: Reduce uncontrolled energy losses. And first of all, heat for heating.

That sounds easy. We warm the walls and everything will be fine.

But in practice, this is far from always the case. It happens that the walls were insulated and on heating it was reflected poorly. Here, we will be helped by diagnostics with a thermal imager.

What can we learn if we make an energy audit of building envelopes?

Few people know this, but through the cracks you can lose up to 40% of the heat for heating. There may also be hidden sources of heat loss such as:

  •         gaps in the sealing of the sash windows
  •         cracks in the mounting seams
  •         gaps in the adjoining window sills to window constructions
  •         hidden damage in thermal insulation and protective films of floors and roofs
  •         poor-quality installation of thermal insulation
  •         insufficient insulation
  •         cold bridges along monolithic belts, Mauerlat
  •         heat loss in the adjoining of balconies, porches, terraces
  •         wall artifacts such as blowing through electrical outlets and switchboards
  •         freezing of floors and floors
  •         insufficient depth of foundation insulation and floor insulation thickness of the first floor
  •         heat loss and freezing of the central load-bearing walls in apartments at a low temperature among neighbors.
  •         and so on...

Therefore, the initial steps, as well as the treatment of the patient by the doctor, should occur with the task of analysis. In construction, this is an energy audit or thermal imaging inspection during the winter period, and even better with a leak test (this makes it possible to find problems at any time of the year)

It is ideal to carry out such events before finishing work. Then the elimination of deficiencies practically does not cost us anything. But if you suspect that your heating costs are too high, then diagnostics with a thermal imager will find a source of problems. And an experienced energy auditor will determine how significant these problems are and in what way they are best addressed.

We advise you to conduct a thermal imaging examination before purchasing a property, this will allow you not to buy a pig in a poke.

Also, after conducting a heat audit, you can develop an action plan and select the required insulation thicknesses, materials for sealing leaks and isolating the purges.

Thermal imaging can help you find hidden communications and damage to your heating pipes.

We are engaged in both local surveys with a thermal imager and a comprehensive audit of the entire building and its individual systems.
