One of the sections of the project documentation that is mandatory for the examination is the section '' Energy efficiency ''. According to DBN B.1.2-11, this section reflects the decisions related to the energy performance of the building and implements energy-saving requirements according to DSTU B А.2.2-8. The developed section includes in its composition the energy passport of the building in accordance with DBN B.2.6-31.

The Energy Efficiency section is the first step related to the Law of Ukraine "On Energy Performance of Buildings".

This section must include general energy efficiency data. According to DBN B.2.2-15 the mandatory inclusion of this information in the design of residential buildings and in accordance with DBN B.2.2-9 in the design of public buildings. Compliance with energy efficiency requirements is verified when passing an urban development examination. According to DBN B.1.2-11 the basic requirements for energy saving must be fulfilled and then, according to DBN B.2.6-31 and DSTU-N B А.2.2-5, the energy efficiency class is determined, which must meet the requirements of regulatory documents.
The main parts of the Energy Efficiency section are:

    Explanatory note showing thermal performance (in accordance with DBN B.2.6-31 - calculations of heat transfer resistances, thermal stability, air permeability, humidity and temperature) of enclosing structures;
    Calculation of heat losses of the building for heating in accordance with DBN B.2.6-31;
    Display of data on the design of the corresponding area of translucent structures and reference to the corresponding architectural section of the design documentation in accordance with DBN B.2.5-28. In the case of a significant excess of the areas of translucent structures, a justification for the feasibility of this decision shall be provided;
    Assessment and calculation of energy efficiency indicators of building equipment and systems in accordance with SNiP 2.04.05 and other applicable standards;
    According to DBN B.2.6-31 and DSTU-N B А.2.2-5 - energy passport;
    Analytical evaluation of insolation.

The composition of the explanatory note to the section "Energy efficiency":

1) Description of the design decision of the building - a general characteristic;

2) Brief information on the design decisions made aimed at efficient energy use of the building and its engineering systems:

    The solutions that have arisen in the optimization of three-dimensional planning solutions are comprehensively ensured by the reduction of heat losses due to external enclosures and the heat from the sun;
    List of solutions and '' pies '' of design solutions for exterior building enclosures, insulation solutions and brands and type of materials (thickness, brand, quality)
    Solutions for protection against excessive solar radiation, passive and active protection in the summer;
    Measures on energy efficiency of engineering systems, each system separately, buildings (ventilation system, heating - cooling solution, hot water supply system, lighting);
    Planned and condominium metering of energy consumption;
    Renewable and alternative energy sources designed for implementation (photovoltaics, thermal energy, geothermal, energy storage and storage systems);
    Economic and technical justification of the need to connect the systems of the building of the city energy supply system, or gas boiler, or use of electric heating, when using electricity from non-renewable energy sources;

3) Volume-planning characteristics of the building and internal parameters of the comfort and climate;

4) Calculations of thermal and technical indicators of the building's external enclosure;

5) Energy performance of the house;

6) Energy efficiency class which is confirmed by calculations;

7) Terms of effective operation of layers of thermal insulation of a building and its individual elements;

8) Confirmation of thermotechnical indices of materials, fire-technical indices (according to DBN B.1.1-7), service life according to test reports;

9) Conclusions on compliance of the building with the requirements of the "Design Tasks" (part related to energy efficiency and the requirements of DBN B.1.2-11, DBN B.2.6-31 on the rational use of resources in compliance with sanitary and climatic parameters).

The “Energy Efficiency” section is compiled during the development of a project with an attachment to a specific construction site with the location of the building on the sides of the world, which is reflected in the stages “Project” (P) or “Work project” (RP) depending on the complexity of the house according to the DBN A.2.2-3.
