Why do you need the energy passport of the building
What is the energy passport of the building for?

In recent years, designers and builders have been paying more and more attention to improving the energy efficiency of buildings and structures under construction. To solve the problem of reducing heat loss, an energy audit is used.
Energy passport of a building is an official document attesting to the conduct of a similar energy audit (of a building or project documentation).
An energy audit includes a set of measures to determine the energy efficiency of a building and assess the potential for energy conservation. The audit results are recorded in the energy passport of the building, followed by the assignment of a certain energy efficiency class to it.
The energy passport of the building reflects a lot of relevant data on the volumes of actual energy consumption, resistance to heat losses of the external walling (walls), and equipment with metering devices.
The most important information contained in the energy passport is a list of measures to increase the energy efficiency of the building and reduce the amount of energy consumed.
To prepare the energy passport of the building, specialized equipment is used to determine the actual values of the indicators. One of the instruments used in energy auditing is a thermal imager that is capable of detecting the temperature of any surface with an accuracy of 0.1 degrees and determining the places of heat loss.
If an energy passport is developed at the design stage, then a comprehensive analysis and calculations of all enclosing shells and systems of the object are carried out.
When developing documents, a study is conducted of heating, cooling, hot water and ventilation systems. An assessment of equipment management systems, resource consumption metering systems, and waste heat recovery systems is also mandatory.
Since 2019, the energy passport is a preliminary document before the formation of the final energy certificate and is developed at the stage of completion of design work but to undergo an examination and start construction work. The customer should be able to improve the characteristics of the building designed after the manufacture of the passport and thereby improve the energy efficiency class without significant financial costs.
Energy audits are carried out in accordance with DBN V.2.6-31: 2016 and a thistle building with an area of more than 500 m2 must have a construction passport as part of the design documentation.
When the mandatory development of a passport for energy efficiency:
-
as a result of the development of the energy efficiency section
-
during design work on insulation and modernization
-
when changing the operating conditions of the facility
-
during commissioning and examinations
The development of the document takes place for each building separately, despite the fact that it can be part of a complex of buildings. An exception is the compilation of an energy passport of an enterprise.
When passing a town-planning examination according to an energy passport, an assessment is made of the object's compliance with current building codes.
