Why can we evaluate the effectiveness of using online tools?
The experts estimate the potential for energy saving and energy efficiency in Ukraine as very high (for example, there is an assessment of the potential for reducing natural gas consumption by 50-60%).
The primary question is to implement all state, foreign, private, and many other energy saving programs as soon as possible and in a better way?
In view of various factors, such as the solvency of the population, the lack of qualified specialists, firms, installation organizations, acceptable financing, the deadlines for implementing the tasks to improve energy efficiency are noticeably delayed.
And so in order to realize all that potential of energy saving, it is necessary first of all to carry out low-cost measures and form a solid platform for further progressive advancement on the path to reducing energy consumption.
As mentioned earlier, about the lack of qualified specialists in this still underdeveloped market, we came to the idea that we need to give additional help to experts in this industry, help beginner specialists, and educate ordinary citizens on energy conservation - simply saying: “speak their language. "
How do we help, you ask? And we will tell you about this now.
It all began with a joint project with the State Energy Efficiency Agency to develop an online calculator for replacing a gas boiler.
His main function was to make it clear whether he should change his old gas boiler to an alternative one (solid fuel, electric or other), what would be the benefit and the period for returning his money.
This development is still in high demand. You can find it already on many sites, both individual and sites of various administrations.
Upon the successful completion of this project, the State Energy Efficiency Agency developed a new program on state compensation for energy efficiency projects for the OSMD. In view of the positive cooperation with our specialists, it was decided to develop a new online tool for the leaders of residential buildings.
The purpose of this calculation was to present to the house manager whether or not to take part in the state program. How much will it cost to implement measures to warm the facades, modernize the ITP, replace lighting for his home, and what the effect will be.
And so we already got two implemented joint projects.
But we did not stop there. Now we are cooperating with various organizations with which we are jointly developing online tools for analyzing energy efficiency measures. Among them are:
- heating calculation calculator;
- calculator for heating radiators;
- heat loss calculator;
- calculator of building materials;
- window selection calculator;
- calculator for replacing lighting;
- and many others.
In this way, we reduce the time for professionals to process the results of work, and give beginners a tool to carry out work.
But as you can see, all these tools do not give a complete picture, but either rely on existing calculations or are parts for future ones. Only a complete energy audit of an object or enterprise can collect all the data into the big picture.
To conclusion, I would like to say that a qualitative calculation of heat losses online or a heat engineering calculator is incorrectly used to assess the energy efficiency of a building only in its individual parts. It should be remembered that the building should be evaluated in a complex, taking into account the interaction of all its parts and online tools can only be used as part of calculations and analytics. For example, an estimate of the heat loss of a house only by the values of heat loss of the building envelope gives incorrect information, so with this assessment we lose information about heat loss from ventilation and leaks in the building, do not evaluate cold bridges, do not analyze the lack of heat from shading by vegetation, and so on.
